Limited English proficient (LEP) clients experience significant barriers to access the justice system. At the same time, advocates, including pro bono volunteers, may be less willing to take on LEP clients because of the increased resources involved or simply due to lack of knowledge. This session will examine creative approaches and technology that can be used to bridge this divide, best practices to ensure meaningful language access, and ways to address reluctance in representing LEP clients.
