This interactive training session will introduce lawyers and legal professionals to computer programming in a language called Python which can be used to make algorithms, web scrapers, Twitter bots, and document automators. This course is for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS WITH NO CODING EXPERIENCE who want to better position themselves in the quickly evolving legal market. Attendees will learn the basics of computer programming, the limitations of what software can do, and how to start writing your own software! This is an interactive training where every attendee will be writing code, so bring a laptop to the session. The training session will be taught by Matthew Stubenberg, the Associate Director of Legal Technology in the Access to Justice Lab at Harvard Law School and William Palin, Access to Justice/Technology Fellow at Harvard Law School.
