Michael Hofrichter’s current title at Houston Volunteer Lawyers is the Operations and Compliance Director, however his responsibilities go beyond that. In his Director role, he oversees the Program’s support staff; updates HVL training/policy/template libraries; manages the IT needs of the organization including maintaining and customizing HVL’s database and websites; prepares case reporting and data compliance for most grants; as well as coordinates some day-to-day office logistics. He also serves as a staff attorney on call for volunteer questions; supporting specific clinics; and giving CLEs. He has been instrumental in the continued development of HVL’s technology based projects including online volunteer opportunity signups, disaster response, and document assembly forms. Michael’s been at HVL since he graduated University of Houston Law Center in 2010, following an internship with HVL after his 1L year.
