Talia Boiangin
University of Miami Law School
2018 ATJ Tech Fellow
Miami, Florida
Talia is a second-year law student at the University of Miami. She is passionate about technology and policy relating to technology. Before law school, Talia worked with Cyber Civil Rights Initiative (CCRI), a non-profit organization that advocates for technological, social, and legal innovation that fights against online abuse and online sexual harassment. This experience solidified to Talia what she already knew-- the law is not keeping pace with technology.
In 2018, Talia was selected as a 2018 Access to Justice Technology Fellow. As a fellow, she spent her summer working with Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF) developing a consumer law chatbot to maximize helpline attorneys’ time spent with clients. She researched consumer protection issues that would help train the chatbot. Additionally, Talia researched the strictest privacy regulations like the GDPR and drafted a privacy policy for minors’ use of the chatbot. Talia uses her previous work experience at Apple, CCRI, and CLSMF to inspire fellow law students to incorporate technology in their everyday lives.
